I have an Aero 50 that is getting hard to start.
In the past if the battery was weak , I could kick start it in 1 or 2 kicks.
Now I get a slower crank w/o starting but if I kick start instead - that's taking alot more kicks and trys to get started. I'd be looking at the starter as the battery is good but that doesn't explain - hard to kick start too.
What should I be looking at?
Slow to start

.first change the spark plug evebn ine hat looks "good" could be bad. then check the bystarter because if thats messing up then the bike will be very hard to start. how long has it been since you cleaned the carb or the air filter and air filter box? have you noticed any performance decrease?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
I cleaned the carb a year ago and filter then and earlier this year.
I'm off to buy a new plug as I've got 1000 miles on it since I put a new one in. It runs ok or the same once started and does seem to start with starter or one kick right up if I've run it and its hot.
Will running the cooler plug make this starting problem worse. I do mostly
drive full throttle and its hot in CA now. I've an NGK 6 in but was going to try an 8 before I started getting the starting problems.
Thanks for input and I looked at the other spree start post but his seemed more starter related than mine. I'm checking on the plug , then charging system.

"Getting hard to start" may be low compression. Check it now, before you burn up a starter or a piston.
Otherwise, the battery may just be getting tired.

Hi
I found my hard start problem when I pulled the spark plug to inspect or replace it. My added inline filter was blocked pretty good and was restricting gas flow. That restricted gas flow showed up more
when I needed a richer mix at the start than once it was running.
Now I just need to watch the new inline filter to see if I need to do the tank and its tank filter for some rust and sediment.
Old spark plug looked about as I expected for 1000-1500 miles
light brown and gap still good.
