starter just clicks
got power, got lights, got signal lights, no starter motor going... my starter relay just sits and clicks everytime i brake+start button any suggestions? thx
try bypassing the switch if it turns over u need a new relay. if it doesnt it could be the starter. make sure it isnt hung up and the batt. isnt dead.

well what i noticed is if i bypass it, the starter motor will run for about 4 seconds and start fast and slowly die, to the point of a crawl, and i cant really jump it and take it for a ride to recharge the battery quite yet. still working on getting it going =/ new sparkplug, clean carb, clean filter, spark, gas, no fire.

DO NOT DO THIS!!!vette76 wrote:just take abatt charger and crank it over with the charger on.
sorry vette, but this is very bad advice. trying to start when the charger is still hooked up to the battery can cause serious problems, like exploding the battery! i tried doing this once and it almost ruined my electrical system and blew a fuse.
charge ur battery overnight and then put it in and see what happens.

i have never heard of that happening unless it is hooked up to a car or something with to many amps. i always keep the charger on 2 amps.compared to the 200 that it will go up to.

well in my case, the charger was at a higher ampage, which would be like trying to jump it from a car that was running. but if its at a low amps then u should be ok. id still just charge it overnight though, just for safety.vette76 wrote:i have never heard of that happening unless it is hooked up to a car or something with to many amps. i always keep the charger on 2 amps.compared to the 200 that it will go up to.
