Who knows the spree?

I have an 84 Spree Elite (like the one on the homepage here). It has been giving me trouble. When I got it my aunt told me that it needed a new battery. I did that. Now it is dead again. Lights will not even come on. Why does this keep happening? Is there possibly a faulty wire, alternator. The starter has seemed to slip occasionally. I want to get it back into shape before the snow flies. Thanks for your time.

there is a different between sprees and elites. sprees were made from 84-87. 50cc elites were made form 87-01.

It is a spree and not an Elite sorry about that.

Find a multi-meter and check the voltage while its running. Should be like 13.5-14.5 running.
