Heres the story. I forgot to prime my oil pump the last time I installed my carb. It ran fine until it made a back fire like noise and quit running. I checked the compression and found it to be 50 lbs.I pulled the jug and found a few small gouges that I stoned out then used a brake hone on it. My cylinder measured 1.615 . I put new rings, gaskets and torqued the head bolt to spec and the compression is still only 60lbs. Any ideas?

I forgot that I also discovered my head was warped. I am a die maker so I turned the warp out of the head but still only have 60 lbs comp.

sounds like u need to get the cylender bored.and a new head. these are very precise parts. you will also need oversized piston+rings.

Used engine off ebay. Not worth the effort, both in parts and your own labor.
