well see i didnt know which one should go on the top but i had the shiny one on top and it broke. what do you think i should do?

yes the shiny/chrome one belongs on the top. u might be able to use the old ring and the new ring but i wouldnt use just one.this would just be a temp. fix but u should get new rings.

get another set of rings, and next time make sure ur lubing up the piston and cylinder with oil as your putting it on. also you might want to hone out the cylinder.

Also make sure that the rings are sitting in the slots and lined up on the little pins.

Is it worth it to get the cylender hone out. I can get it done for 5 dollars . Is that a good price or bad price?

i had my friend do it when i put in a new piston. if you're gonna be using the same piston, u dont really have to i dont think.

honing it out removes the tiny grooves inside the cylinder through which oil passes to cool the piston. this is so when you have a new piston it sets in right and makes new grooves.

again, im not sure if you should do it or not if youre just replacing the rings, maybe someone else here has an opinion?

and as for the price, my friend did it for free. its a pretty easy procedure, you just insert the honing tool into a drill and spin it inside the cylinder. however, $5 doesnt sound that bad if its done professionaly.

use a hose clamp to compress the rings and tap it in.

ok, some advice: have another person help you out, it helps a lot.

one person holds the rings together, in their correct slots.
another person then tries to put the cylinder on as oil is poured down.
after a few tries like that, you should be able to get it on there.

good luck!
