Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I have asked this before but never got an answer.

I am interested in getting some whitewall tires for my Spree but I cannot find the exact size.

The tire size for the Spree is 2.5x10 inches. I have found whitewalls in 3.0x10 inches.

Would that slightly wider tire work?

I bought a Spree with a 3.0x10 on the rear and it would rub on the kickstand and rear fender when hitting bumps.

Bummer. Any ideas on where I can find some whitewalls?

I was only able to find Ching Shen and Dunlop tires at 2.50 x 10, none of them are whitewall.

Yeah, I've seen that, but I don't want to go through the added expense of buying that stuff as well.

Well, the time finally came.

I have been riding on borrowed time and original tires and the back tire blew last night when I was on my way to the monthly cruise night on the downtown square.

I got about 600 miles out of those dogs.

Who has the best deal going on Spree tires these days?

I found some Kenda K329 tires for less than $14 each at The Motorcycle Superstore.

I second Motorcycle Superstore... I bought 4 tubes, 4 Tires, 2 helmets all for under $125!!!

I just bought a 2.75 (for the rear) and a 2.5 (for the front) of that same tire and from motorcyclesuperstore. With tubes it came to about $50. I'll let you know if these are any good.

I'm also looking for Spree whitewalls. I'm going to start investigating and see if I can find anything. I don't hold out much hope for whitewalls that size though

I'm not very knowledgeable about tire sizes, but I found this site that says it has whitewall tires in size 10" and 12" any thoughts? The basket system is odd, I'm thinking this site might be for people looking to import large numbers

So I'm assuming that 2.75 x 10 won't work? does anyone know how the #/#-10 numbers work, is there any type like 90/90-10 that are comparable to 2.5 x 10 or are the #/# ones much bigger?

2.75 would work on a Spree but even the 90/90 would be too big - I recall it is over 3 inches wide/tall. There is not enough clearance for a tire that big.

A 90/90 means the nominal width of the tire is 90mm.

(divide by 25.4 mm per inch = 3.54 inches wide)

the /90 refers to the tire's Height, expressed as a percentage of its width. The tires with 2.50, 3.00 etc. (no slash) are nominally exactly as tall as they are wide. A "square" (or is it "round"?) profile. The -10 is simply the rim diameter.

3.54 inches x 90% = 3.19 inches tall. My Pirellis are of that size, and clear the NB50 SE/05 cases very comfortably. A 3.5 would probably fit too. However the space available on the NQ and SB 50 cases is reportedly tight.

I haven't seen any 80/90 or 80/80s out there, but they may exist. Some early JDM 50s (and the old Z-1 Honda Mini-Trail) had weird 8-inch diameter wheels too. You could get fat tires on smaller rims if that look appealed to you.

Spreenthusiasts have reported being able to fit 2.75s easily, 3.00s with either luck or creative case gnawing. Remember the nominal sizes vary in actual size considerably. A lot depends on the brand.
