I am wanting to replace missing turn signals on a 1987 Spree. The most common available are pre-87. Physically, they bolt right on but the wiring is slightly different. The rear is identical to pre-87 and the front have the same wiring colors and can be easily adapted. The problem is the flasher (relay) is very different. 87 uses a 3 wire plug with green, gray, black. Pre-87 is 2 wire orange and blue. Can the pre-87 flasher be used or must I find the exact part ($40 at Honda). Can someone help with matching wires. Note, the pre-87 relay has 2 screws on the back, possible for grounding.

If I'm reading correctly, you have and 87 with bad lights front and rear and want to intall pre-87 lights on it, correct?
As for the lights themselves, electrically, they are identical. No matter what the color code is. A light is a light....
Replacing the bulb assemblies and even the mounting bars is exactly identical.
If you have a bad relay (flasher) unit ALSO, let me know and I'll give you explicit instructions on changing it. Not at all difficult.
