engine flooded??????

Post by puttinginwork »

Is there any way to bleed the fuel from the engine not just from the carb?
Should I just wait it out? Got it turned over but then had to make throttle adjustments. Also throttle not picking up any slack and the manual does not show any diagrams of the throttle assemble on the handlebar. Tried to adjust on throttle cable and adjustment screw on carb with no favorable results. This is driving me nuts because I just finsihed a rebuild. Any Help???????????? Thanks in advance.

thr throttle piston that slides into the carb will go in 2 ways. its probably in the wrong way. turn it around and make sure it slides all the way down. if it is not inserted correctly it runs at full throttle.(or floods)

turn it around? doesn't the needle just fit downward? Would this be a cause for no slack? Also how to deal with flooded engine? Pilleazze!

yes the needle faces down. i mean twist the cylinder 180 degrees until it slides all the way down.(should be able to see it through the intake side of carb).as for the flood u can either wait for it to evaporate or pull the plug and keep cranking it over.
