Brake light bulb

Post by hornet »

Hey folks,

Alright, who can tell me which is the correct tail light/ brakelitght bulb to put into my 1994 Honda Elite 50S...( I would presume it is the same as is in the Sprees!? ) It came to me with a 1157 that didn't work. I presumed it was bad, so I called the Honda dealership to find out which is the one that SHOULD be in there and they said the 2057. Bought it and neither in the new package worked.

So, which one is the one I'm supposed to have in there for the tail light/brake light? 1157, 2057, 1057??? or another one. I have power to the contacts. I have tested it three times now to make sure I'm not crazy. The test-lite lites up when the engine is started, and when I pull either brake lever and touch the second contact, IT also lites the test-lite, so I am certain it is getting power all the way to the contacts. So it has to be the bulb...right?

Please help me figure out this simple step in getting by scooter on the road!

Turns out to be I was told the wrong bulb by the Honda dealership. They said it took the #2057, it's suppose to be the #1157.

The wiring is good all the way to the contacts... a test-lite proved that. We'll find out for sure when I get the proper #1157 bulb.

Thanks fellows I'll let you all know how it comes out.
