How to I get the tire off????!!!!

Post by innieTT »

The spree that I bought had its rear tire on backwards... I took it to Discount tire and asked if they could do it - they couldn't. What do I do?

i dont see how it could be on backwards. the threads would be covered so the nut wouldnt fit. anyway, take the exhauset off ant the lug on the wheel. put a hammer handle, pipe whatever through the spoke to stop the tire from turning. us a socket instead of a wrench so u dont strip the * out of the nut if it is tight.i still dont know how the * the mistake can be made of putting it on backwards.

i just let the air out, pryed out one side of the tire tread (careful not to pinch the tube underneath), then took out the tube and pryed the rest of the tire off. Installation is just the same only a bit backwards, this was the hardest part as when you almost have the tread on, it seems as if it may rip. -JD

Tire irons help too, and can be purchased from a motorcycle shop.
