Spree will not stay running!!!

Post by Parrothead1706 »

Hi I am new to this site...My neighbor gave me a 1986 Honda Spree which sat for about 2+ years with half tank gas...anyway do not know to much about it..I cleaned out the gas tank got old gas out, all rust, cleaned all the gunk on the bottom of tank and put new clean gas in..emptied oil tank put fresh in, rebuilt carb..cleaned all jets...also cleaned auto fuel valve and have good flow of gas to the carb vacuum working good...started engine which will not stay running without forcing gas through air cleaner into carb..Also does this scooter have automatic choke???What do you think is causing this???
Thanks Vince

Yes it has an auto choke. Get an inline fuel filter and clean the carb. The idle jet's plugged.
