I've been reading a lot on this site about decarbonizing an exhaust, and want to do it on my '85 Spree. I live in the city, so a bonfire is pretty tough. Others have done it on a barbecue, however? If I can bug a friend to let me use theirs, whats the process? How hot to I set it, open or closed, and how long do I leave it on? Is there a risk of fire (and therefore losing a friend?)
Thanks!

Mufflers on the grill--no sauce
I burned my mufflers on a 3 burner gas grill--as hot as it would go for about an hour. Didn't leave any residue (at least that I can tell--or taste) in the grill. My 2 Sprees are fairly low mileage so don't know how carboned they were.
Good luck!
Good luck!
