lost key/removing ignition

Post by mikeg »

I have an 86 Spree and I need to take the ignition assembly to a locksmith to have a new key made. I've taken a look at it and since I'm no good at soldering I'm not sure what to do. A Honda guy told me to follow the wires and there will be a plug...I looked before and didn't see one.

Is there an easy way to get the ignition off and back on the bike?

Thanks

yes there should be a connector 6" behind the ignition. it might be in the loom. you can also take the seat lock off. its just 1 clip u pull off from behind the panel, and it slides out. might be easier.

did you need that ignition code for having the keys made? or did you just give them the seat lock and they made a key from it?
