hard to start, idles for a bit then dies....

the other day i finished putting everything back together and i started it up and it ran fine but when i went to put the body pieces back on i though that i would adjust the carb a little so started it up again and it idled but when i gave it any throotle it wants to die... i took of the carb made sure it was all clean but it back on and it was even harder to start and dies within a couple seconds.....it alos revs up and down and i notice some sparks in the exhaust.. . this thing has given me soo much trouble i dont kno wut to do anymore...... :(

mines doing the same thingexcept mines not th hard to crank it just idles up and down. i cleaned the carb and it didnt do it then the next day i cranked it up and and did the same thing it stared going up and downat a high rpm.

does the bystarter have abything to do with it???

i didnt have a bystarter for the longest time and it was fine with my scooter.

well im gonna try running it without it and see what happens. but what exactly does that thing do???

Don't run without the bystarter; you risk leaning the engine out and ruining it.

well thne i dont have a clue what the problem is i took of the carb a million times and its clean as can be so im at a loss.... and i dont kno much about floats but would that cause this problem???

If the float doesn't float in gas ie fills up with gas, that can be a problem.

wel i took of the carb once more cleaned it all out checked the float, looked at the bystarter and it seemed to be okay, charged up my battery, put a new sparklug in, adjusted the carb and it started up the first try and ran great, i got it up to about 35 which i think is great.... :D
