CT mani 21mm carb stock bore

Post by niftyman »

I have a DJ-1 with the variated AF05E chassis is SE50 it runs great it did have 8 inch rims i now have 10inch rims it also has the 10:1 gears.Right now it tops out at 73KMH im trying to buy S4PATRICKS big bore kit to go on it for some more power.

My real question is i have a CT intake and a 21mm OKO carb will this work better than the stock carb on a stock bore. I have lots of jets 35 to 55 on the slow jet and 95 to 160 for the main jet i plan on using this for when i get the big bore but its here now and i havent even bought a bbk and i want to use the carb. I should hav said i have a DJ1-R exhaust the factory expansion chamber type

Don't bother with the 21mm until you get the bbk.

It will just waste gas, and be louder.

:imo: There will be no performance gains by switching to the 21mm now.

Correct the dj-1 and the yamaha mint had 8 inch rims. You accelerate a little faster with the 8 inch rims.

    Greetings:

The CT manifold is too narrow to cover the AF05 case port completely. You can craft an adaptor plate to cover the open strip by the cylinder.
The bolt pattern is the same.

8-inch rims may comply with some obscure Japanese regulations.

Changeing from a 8 inch rim to a 10 inch rim gave me a much faster top speed the motor didnt have any issues pushing the new gear ratio allthough i did lighten up the rollers a bit
