I would leave the main alone unless it is 4stroking or bogging at WOT.

Your top speed and acceleration issues have more to do with trans tuning than engine power. :imo:

I would think you would want heavier weights in the variator to increase top speed instead of the light ones you have now

Hard to say for sure without a tach.

Too heavy rollers will not let the engine rev up to peak power rpm's

too light and the variator may not push the belt all the way out.

You can do a simple test for that, by drawing sharpie marker lines on your variator.

that is a good idea Tjamz :D I may do that myself in order to get the perfect combo for my weights once I get around to fine tuning it.

28 is usually overkill, but seeing as 95% of modified elites in hawaii use an OKO 28mm carb, it really isn't the limiting factor. That said, I have a 24mm carb on my 50mm bore.

I've never liked v8 pipes for top speed, once you change out for the PG long, I'd start looking at some trans tuning. stock clutch+springs suck :P

if your getting a pg long i wouldnt worry to much about tunning right now cause you willl just be starting over when you put the pg on.... pg long made a huge difference for me, was like starting from scratch...

Your needle clip also needs to be part of your tuning equation. Since your using a bigger bore I wouldn't go lower tthan 52 pilot 138 main. Read up ona proper plug chop

Lots of great advice, thank you all so much for your time and consideration. I just made a couple sandwiches and some ice tea and now its a full day of just me and the bike. Wish me luck. lol.

I did throw the 50 pilot on and its not loading up at a standstill anymore.

I'm about to mess with some tuning and see what i get on top speed.

Thanks again, i'll be on most of the day so i'll let you know.

CAPT wrote:You will have better luck with the PG long and the 28mm... Seems a bit strange that you have a black plug with that main jet, I assume the carb is new, so float height is probably not the problem..
I agree with CAPT on that.......does your 28mm OKO have the power jet hose blocked off?

If not .....it should be. That would cause a over rich condition.

From what I understand that carb is massively oversized. Whether that actually hurts performance, I don't know. Have you done a plug chop at various speeds?

Did OKO made a 28mm carb with the power jet?

Are they making both models or is the k-102 replacing the k-101?
