I'm tired of being a snail ???? (Spree AF05 swap)
yes yes im doing a motor swap ..
I found a Moped junkyard and there are a few motors laying around in the shed, attic and on the ground as well. I'm not looking for an AF16(dio) but I would like to find an AF05E 4 bolt intake. Since these motors are not attached to anything and of different years, I need to know what (by markings on the case) would be the best to find if there is one? Or other parts that may be lying on the ground like an AF16 variator or drive gears or whatever else may be lying around there. My goal is to do about 45 (it's better than the 30 I'm getting now) with basically a Spree stock motor. Mods l like to do to the AF05 is exhaust pipe, after market air filter and a little dremel work to make her breath easier.

So your not planning to do a motor swap. That's what i originally was thinking you meant. A spree motor is and always will be a turd without having a variator. Currently there is no easy way to put a variator on a spree. Put one of those af05e motors on it

af05e is the aero and 80s elite motor. Just putting that in, with no other mods will give you what you want. About a 5mph top end boost and crazy good acceleration (in comparison)

so 35 mph stock top speed and a little this and that 45???
im going to open the ex port jump the jet to about 85 or 90 after marker air filter and build a pipe so dumping the out gas is fast smooth and some back presser .. my spree will do 33 by the speed o and it needs a bigger hi speed jet..

more like 40 all day long though and 45 with a slight down hill and the wind at your back.

dont want to do a AF16 ..
but wood like 45 on the flat and a good day .. just dont want to build a motor that cant hold up for the long hall that cast the long dollar..

why would you not want an af16? I think i remember somebody saying their aero went 42mph with just an upgraded variator. I think thats about mine does. I don't ride my aero very much though, so i can't remember, I usually ride my spree. im about to hop on the aero though, cuz the carb is off my spree right now. I'll let you know what the top speed is.
If you wanted to get 45-50 out of it, just regear it. 9.8 or 9.1 gears would get you there. But like i said before, they aren't a direct bolt on.

well that make thing a little tufter not a bolt on if im right these 3 diffident sets of gear in these .. cant find were i read it and may be wrong from 12/1 to 10/1 im having brain melt right now or a runny nose.. dam

this is what mess up the cell i have for a brain when you go to Wikispreedia look under Engine Identification you get..

I think I read that they do make a set of gears for the af05e now. But I'm not sure. Dio gears will work fine if you just swap the other gears in the transmission case to dio gears also. Hard to find a used set of gears though
I rode my aero yesterday. It did get into the 40s but it takes a few blocks to get there. My spree with af05e gets to 45 quickly. It has a big bore kit and gears, though.

munch of the motor im getting . it has the split cable oil injurer type dont no what carb on it and i
no i need a rim and the rest of the plastect for the head.. he thinks it came off a elite ??? the motor
is not froze but needs rings at less ..
