The long hose and adapter subtract PSI, not add.Madman wrote:bakaracer wrote:check for a air leak and make sure the compression is 125. use the kick lever and not the electric start to check that. also make sure your not using a long hose and a adapter for the compression tester. it adds volume to the head so compression readings will be lower
How many psi do you think the hose and adaptor adds?

The v8 pipe on my 50mm ministroke build always kept the temps down compared to my chamber pipe.guen84 wrote:PG LongTrafficjamz wrote:what pipe?

what did the v8 rev to? i dont understand how a pipe can make you run cooler without loosing performanceTrafficjamz wrote:The v8 pipe on my 50mm ministroke build always kept the temps down compared to my chamber pipe.guen84 wrote:PG LongTrafficjamz wrote:what pipe?

I would think the opposite would be true. More hot air out and more cooler air in will cool things down.

Re: need help on jetting start point.
the v8 doesnt rpm as much as the pg long does so the engine doesnt run as hot due to that. less rpm, less flow through the motor, less compression in the case and head.
Nothing like getting stroked!

PG Long
The v8 pipe does not rev as high.....however it makes more power at lower rpms than a pg long or chamber pipe.
less rpms = less heat

if you run it too rich will that cause it to run hot? or maybe too much oil? i know too much oil will cause it to bog down at higher rpms?

running rich does not cause high temps.
running rich lower temps and power.
running too much oil will cause your air / fuel raito to become lean, and therefore run hotter.
