Carb sizing

Post by Paul604 »

Had some issued with seizing in the past. AF24 with a 50mm bbk mini stroke crank 19mm carb ect. Could my carb be too small ? Want to start working on it again. Last time i thought i might have had an air leak at the oil pump shaft cause it was loose. Been running premix 32:1 felt like it was tuned pretty rich but seem to have killed it anyways. Thats why im thinking maybe this carb is too small?

Did you do plug chops with it, did you have a cylinder head temp gauge? Lots of people run 19mm carbs on 48mm kits on stuff so can't see being that much too small on a 50mm. I would think it would be fine as long as you can jet the idle pilot and main jet accordingly.
