Rev limit
Hey there. I have a '86 aero 50 that I've rebuilt. New bearings, seals, reeds, and a metrakit 65cc big bore. I also added a high energy coil and high speed variator and a bigger carb with new oem style exhaust. What a difference from stock! However, I am getting a bad noise developing at high speeds/rpm. All I can guess is I am reach my rev limit of mechanical integrity. Does anyone know the max rev limit of these 2 strokes? I don't think it sounds over wound, but the rapping noise i hear is definitely bad. Any ideas? I'm guessing I am going around 45 mph when I hear the noise start. Thanks
Before that thing blows apart, I'd doublecheck your bottomend bearings. You may be getting the first warning that one's about gone. The big-bore kit probably isn't helping things either.

well maybe not you but i can get it very close if not 10,000. that's not a boast but i have done it more than once on different bikes. There are guys that get them to 12,000 but i am not one of them that can.but to be more hoonest for average i would say 9,200-9,500 is more reasonable.darat wrote:yeah but not likely
