Honda 50cc elite upgrading

I have a Honda elite 50cc 1995, and it has 5,700 miles on it. My buddie has a 1997, and his goes like 35 mph, but mine can hit 25 on flat ground, and 30 maximum going downhill. I would like it to go 10mph faster, but I don't have any experience working on mopeds, and it runs great now and I don't want to wreck it. I would like to not spend any money at all but if I have too, then less then $30.00. I've heard the govener may have some speed reduction, is this true? Thanks

first thing i wood is get the Manual !! it will help you out viewforum.php?f=11
you may need a new belt or rollers ??? not sure if you have the washer welded in the pipe but if you do you will need to up jet the carb before you take out the washer or you will fry the motor

Ok thanks. Do you mean change the belt, filter and spark plug? What is "jet the carburetor"???

You can do a basic derestrict on your scoot for free exept the larger main jet, expect 40mph.
