temp gauge tuning

Post by bobbygerard »

Hi

Just got a cheap temp gauge 10mm too small to fit on the spark plug. Would placing it under one of the head bolts still give a accurate running temp? What temp range should be looking at achieving. :peace:

Greetings:

I ran mine under a headbolt for a couple of years. Temps seemed the same, plus or minus 20 degrees. Added advantage of not having to screw with the wire every time you pull the spark plug.

I have the same but I'm only on a 86 main. Is yours ported. Every seems to be using much larger jets than I. If I put a 92 or higher it spits and is slow of the start with the odd back fire.
