Re: Complicated kx65 v force install

Post by deuce217 »

Thanks for clearing that up, I have heard it was a PITA, I had no idea it was this difficult to do. Maybe I will wait until next year to attempt.

Side note: That is some serious dough to drop. But looking at you build, it fits right in.

I do have one technical question:

On the 2nd pic from the bottom (viewing the inlet side of the reed valve) it appears like the ct mani that bolts up to that will have a large reduction in flow because the small diameter of that vf inlet. Is this correct or I am seeing things? If so, Perhaps creating some transitional insert would be in order to help things a bit.

I would go to ebay and search for the cheapest vforce 3 reeds for a kx60/65 or rm65. I've seen them for as low as 124$

LMH I really liked your posts on these reeds. I have been interested in them for a while and wondered how they fit. Looks great to me. Having had a motor eat a reed spring rendering it out of commission and ruining a perfect broken in bore, the idea of the carbon reeds and no screws to fall out is awesome.

all kidding aside i did need to drill out the holes on the manifold where it mounts to the block and also the holes on the reed block because i could only get 3 bolt holes lined up, its not very difficult but just saying :)

Who is this guy ?
The KX65 reed block fits the CT manifold, pics included to prove it. Of course aftermarket stuff requires a little fitting and filing, everyone knows that.
The guy is probably smarter than he sounds and just trying to stir up an argument.
But yet he cant afford $130 and wants a cheaper way out, here is a hint, the CT manifold comes with a cheap reed block, just use that.
