Performance Crank questions

Post by Rabbi »

I'm about to rebuild my AF18E motor, as mentioned in other threads...

I have decided I will either get the Polini Corsa or Polini Contessa 72cc boreup kit

My question is, is really necessary to get a performance crank or can I get away with the stock Honda crank (12mm diameter)?

The scoot will be a daily rider, and wont be used to race... but i want it to haul *. It's a 1980 Nifty Fifty with AF18E engine swap (similar to Spree, but with round headlight and no kickstart)

If you think I should go with an aftermarket crank, which one is the most popular?

If you think I should stick with the stock crank, is there anything else I should replace? Bearings etc?

Cheers

from most sources I've asked it is 12mm and the AF18E found in ZX scoots is 14mm

stock crank is fine. don't need to spend the xtra for a racing crank for a daily rider.
