af16e stroker question

Post by akurtzer57 »

Plan on doing a stroker in my af16 spree. Kinda set on around a 125cc. Plan to use the taida 55mm bore and taida crank. Now my question is whats the largest crank can fit with no machine work? I heard a 50mm may fit but not sure if thats correct. Was just curious before ordered my parts. If I can do a stroker with less machine work well then thats the route ill go.

hi ak. you do have to cut the cases for the 50mm crank to fit.
The 44mm crank you do not have to cut the cases.

Greetings:

But the original question:
So a 55mm bore and the 44mm 2ab I'm looking around a 105cc?
is correct. I calculated 104.7-something ccs.
Pi R Squared x Stroke in cm.
55mm = 5.5cm
5.5cm divided by 2 = 2.75
2.75 x 2.75 x 3.1416 x 4.41 = 104.774..
But the big cylinder's unlikely to work well with that shorter stroke as Graphie says.

I read somewhere that someone makes a 44.5cm stroke "Ministroker" that fits without hogging out the cases. That's the biggest stroke you can install. Machining the cases may very well compromise the integrity of the fasteners of the two halves and of the cylinder studs if done incorrectly - and perhaps even if done correctly. You can get to 85 ccs with a ministroker and a 50mm bore. I burned two 51mm bores almost on installation - the walls are too thin if something isn't perfect, and maybe even if everything IS perfect.

Hi ak. The 55mm bore will also not fit the case. You would have to send it out to cut The top of case so that the bore will slide down.
I believe there are only a few 52mm bores that will fit without cutting the cases. The 51 and 50mm will fit No problem.

If you're looking for a stroker Set up go with the 44 mm crank and polini Corsa.
The bigger BBK stroker kits tend to generate more heat. And cause more wear and tear on everything.

I personally think the most reliable setup the polini Corsa with the stock crank. And it's fast too. :thumbwink:

If you want a reliable and strong motor stay with the stock crank with honda crank bearings and seals and the top-end will blow a thousand times over.

More ccs dosnt mean power too, those corsas are known to whip up a good 50mm bore.

I would say for a fast and super reliable built the corsa on a rebuilt bottom end or a athena or mollasi crank with honda bearings and a 50mm air cooled kit. You said you didnt want the water coles and I dont blame you its too much hassle. But for a city street runner I would say corsa on stock or a stuffer crank.

Hi AK57. it would be 76cc :geekdance:
or you can go with the 50mm, and stock stroke = 80-81cc. :ndance:

I got a sym dd50 72cc.. was trying to get the most mph out of it. I maxed out at 65mph but I know I can go faster. I'm still learning how to properly tune and need help.
The set up: polini corsa, 28oko (142 main didn't touch piolot so idk), 33.3g rollers (three 5.3g three 5.8g), 1k center, yellow malossi clutch, kelly pulley/ramp, malossi torque driver, malossi delta clutch, polini bell, 7:1 gears, v8 exhaust, ebay cdi..

Was thinking of adding that 44mm ab crank (plug and play right? No mod ding block?) + arrow pipe.. any suggestions? I also read here on these forms that a 24mm carb is a better option than the 28mm (hawaii guys over do it a lil bit I guess).. idk, im learning
