'83 aero 50

Post by greg_bingham »

...what are the differences between this motor and the 94+ elites?

is the older aero platform adequately supported by the aftermarket?

i've wanted a 'tunable' 50cc for some time, and there's one available...

ummm, i was not aware that the aero 50 waas made in 83, but no, if you have anything older then a 85 aero, you got nothing... all you can change is the variator... thats it.

can a 85 areo 50 be made to go quick, I seen the 63cc kits on VT site.
Woundering what shuld be done to get 55mph if they are capable, or not.

Looks like gear change can be made & work could be done to speed variator. I didn't seen any after market cranks for making stroker.

the only honda you can change the gears on is 94-01 elite 50.
everything else cant not be tuned the same. With out gears you can never make a great bike. just an ok one with super fast take off and a top speed that is 5mph better then stock.

1996--------Honda Elite S-
1991--------Tomos Targa-
And a Bunch of other bikes.

wrong dac, a honda aero can do 55 easy WITHOUT GEARS! and yes they MADE gears for the aero, they are EXTREMELY RARE!!! but worth it when you find them

also, i have a 94+ also known as a dio engine for sale. 600 takes it 80cc fm bore, ct chrome manifold, mini stroker crank, port matched case, daytona race variator, #2 backplate, zx drive boss, 30mm OKO carb, comes with throttle cable, it has a velocity stack, kevlar belt, oil plug, 5:1 gears, chromed kicker cover ( front ) no rear cover with a chrome race vented clutch bell, KRS adjustible clutch, withhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... new brakes :D

I am not going to lie, I am cheap.
That is why I am looking at scooters.
$3.00 dollars a gallon is killing me, I travel in a industrial area, my need is to get out of the way of some big trucks TO DO WORK. lol
$600 is alot of money for engine with no frame.
have a beat up 89 sb p my kids have fun on in yard as frame.
I live in MI.
Maybee, we we can deal for scooter with frame, for a little more ?

myspree is wrong about the 80cc taiwan bore kit which is a joke, but the current price for the "S" engine is $600 and with either a malossi or polini 72cc bore kit is the most reliable everyday rider as i have 76,000 mi. on mine.
Can't afford speed then stay away from it!

it would work as a everyday rider, i have had no problems but i know what you are saying, the materials that are used to create the bore are not up to par with that of a malossi or a polini. but it would start everyday and be practical in a city or suburb to get around.
