Aero 50 performance exhaust

Post by jimboss496 »

hey fellas, just ordered a polini 65cc big bore kit yesterday for my 85 aero 50. ive read about jetting with my stock airbox and exhaust but i plan on fitting a uni filter and id like to see a pipe in my future. Any ideas on what pipe would be best? I've only been able to find the leo vince sp3. in any case i wil jet to suit but a good starting point will be helpful. thanks! :)

Greetings:

I had that setup. Arreche 17,5 carb with LV SP3 used a 96 main. Never got that big with the stock carb - maybe 88 or 91 from (dimming) memory. I know of no other aftermarket pipe currently available. :( The LV was a 8-9,000RPM outlet.

Greetings:

Scooter-center.com is in Germany. Last time I looked they still had stock in the LV SP-3 #4447. It was around U$165., but there's a few hoops to buy/pay and you may get a bill from Customs; sometimes yes, sometimes no, when you order from the E.U.

you can still import the lv sp3 pipe like wheelman did... or atleast i think he did. he is kinda magical like that, fantastic things just happen to find him... or you can do a ton of math and have someone weld up an expansion chamber exhaust. this is my planned route, a friend of mine has an 11 year old brother that is a welding savant. that being said, does any one have the dimensions already figured for a decent expansion chamber? i would rather not weld on a pit bike pipe...

without the only 8 to 1 gear ratio that was offered by malossi i would not even bother building that engine = it will just blow

Hello

I just put the big bore in as well in my 86 Aero 50 . Like Wheelman and others have said "buy the malossi gears" . With bore installed mine hits 43 MPH and no faster but the RPM's just keep going up with no more speed. I had a * of a time finding them though! I'm still waiting to receive them from Italy or Great Britain I cant remember.... 3 weeks and running. They are stuck in customs.
I'd rather be riding my Aero!

i don't know how you found those gears that they stopped making 15 yrs ago but i was told that if there is a demand they re-stamp old parts, also the tin fan shroud needs to have all the open spaces welded up exept for the vent on the carb side, one guy even installed a computer fan just to keep this hot engine running cool, i ran 65mph but blew a few malossi bore kits on the hills :x

Greetings:

Malossi USA has a pipe for the Aero generation SE/05 engines up to 1993. Search "Vision" on malossiUSA.com. Seems LeoVinci's monopoly is fini.

Greetings:

Did you say "Wild Lion"?? (as opposed to the much more docile Domestic lions...) Yes, although I think it's called the "Screamin' *". Not sure about that last part.... Anyway, Yea, verily I hath founded yon bonny pipeage. They even sent me a pic earlier today:

B3 - Yeah, it seems like we could import a handful there would be enough people around and interested.
