First, 105 Main is way big for 50cc and stock pipe. It's the size I ran with a 65 Cortessa and LeoVince pipe with K&N filter. Look for 88-90 to match yours a lot better.
Rich will run cooler, but power suffers and carbon build-up will develop quickly.
If you keep stock bore, 9.1:1 gears can achieve 49 MPH with no other mods than a variator. Flash 3 did it with an SR pipe and no airbox punch+out.
That was GPS, son, not some wildly optimistic Honda estimate.

8.4:1 gears work well at 72ccs. I have 7.58s to allow highway speeds, but they stifle stoplight take-off pretty bad, even running 10K RPM off the variator.
6.3s need a lot more torque than a Corsa, let alone a 50cc stock bore can generate. Theoretical speed won't translate to reality without a steep downhill or a gale from astern.
Gear for the power you have for real Street rideability.
thanks for really being the only one thats not ripping on me, and answering my question... i think im going to go with this variator:http://www.ebay.com/itm/MALOSSI-PERFORM ... 3f0e48b7cb

and these gears:http://www.ebay.com/itm/FINAL-DRIVE-GEA ... 3a6360333e
i want 9:1 gears, but the 9.8:1 was the closest i could find... u guys think they would pull 49 mph?

NO, you do not have enough horsepower, regardless of what gears you install.

Greetings:

I gotta disagree with The Bear on this one. Here's my direct experience with an actual SA50

Flash 3 didn't stay with stock power for long, but the only things I did when I first got this little red riding skate was install the Polini variator along with a little bigger 90/90 rear tire and the 9.1:1 gears. I touched Nothing else. Now granted with 33 miles on the Odo, there sure wasn't much carbon in the muffler can, and the Honda stock bore was surely putting out as much power as 50 Honda ccs can make, but it GPSed at 49 with ALL-stock engine and only tranny mods as stated. So the stock engine does have enough power to approach 50. The 9.8s might just be tall enough to match my results, as long as your compression is good and the pipe isn't caked with soot. Do have a look at your SA50P's airbox and make the mods needed to look like the "Non-P" item. For sure 9.8s take-off should be better too.

I saw no reason to be "ripping" you. Welcome.

jlynn433 wrote:my scooter only goes about 37-ish right now, but it gets there quick. ive heard of people getting up to 65 with the stock engine. i want to be that guy, so the variator will help me a great deal on top speed?
39 mph is the fastest I was able to squeeze out of 49cc and stock gears.

65mph from a stock engine is not ever going to happen.

9.1 gears on a stock engine will increase your top speed about 5-10 mph but will noticeably decrease your take of speed.

9.8 gears on a stock engine will increase your top speed by 2-5 mph with a little decrease in take off.

8.4 and up require a bbk

6.3 gears and higer require a full stroker setup

:imo:
115 dollars is a lot to spend on a variator
85 dollars is a lot to spend on gears

I know the Polini and Malossi kits are highly praised but if you are like me I dont have all that cash to throw around so why not settle for second best with money to spare. You can always buy the expensive BRAND bores down the road. The 65cc kit isnt all that great but the acceleration from stop is great and hits 40-45 easy. I havent really tried tuning it past that.
