Greetings:

Nice to see some Forumistas with actual Metal-Munching Skee-Yulls! My 32.5 gram Italian load isn't too worn yet, but put me down for a set of American ones once you get your process together. Sure beats handing more of our money to folks overseas!

Will do Wheelman. Now my rollers from Taiwan, measure a bit over 16mm I think like 16.5mm is that normal?

Swim, yes the scale is with me now.

Greetings:

I can't recall when I last applied a mic to a roller, but it seems to me all of mine were spot-on 16mm. Thicker diameter will push the drive face further out, potentially increasing the upgear effect. The downside is that maybe the face can't push back in as far, hurting take-off a little. I've been known to try Yamaha 15x12s. Too rattly. :(

Well the one long one I made was 13 grams and was about 2.5 times longer than needed. So I will have to increase the weights a bit, I need to compare the weight of the 2 materials and also try to calculate a simple, fast weigh (excuse the pun) to achieve our roller needs. But I will be able to produce them in any weight Italy or Taiwan can, Within .1 of a gram. of what ever your scooter desires.

That's the kind of information we could all use. Unfortunately, it would take some effort to post it up, and evidently you're work-averse. If you're not willing (or is it Able?) to share this kind of information, why bother posting it up in a thread that has nothing to do with it? I've seen some effort by you to be helpful lately, Dog. This ain't one.

*raises hand* I have a daily driver that can be used for... uh... ahem... test purposes! :thumbwink:
Seriously though, I'd like to get some of your rollers please. Let me know of the cost.

Have you thought of making something like the Polini rollers?
What of trying to replace the rubber/plastic part that covers the metal part with this material?
In this way, you'd just need is to do the rubber/plastic part and just replace that instead of the whole thing?
Would this lower your cost? Or would it be harder to cast? I have no idea and you would know better than I.
Just giving you some food for thought. It might be easier and economically viable to do it the way that you are doing it already.

Sorry guys I have been very busy. I will be back this project hopefully soon. They are rather time consuming and I dont have much of that. Taz will be first in line, but more than likely I will bust out a decent size batch when I do it. What would be the most common weight I should make first?
