The reason for the bad idle and overall bad performance from that belt is because the belt can be a little slack and ride too high in the driven pulley and the belt rubs the tab on the final drive case

Thats the thing, the 2250 wasn't rubbing on anything. The wear was on the face of the belt itself, not the top. At 25" it was tight as a nuns.

Wow thats a drag. This is all good stuff though. We are figuring out what doesnt work ;-) I love this process of discovery. Its why I'm kinda glad my big bore kit ate something it shouldn't have so I have to go stock for a while. Now get to try all kinds of things to see what new ideas I can come up with for the stock motor :-)

a 12A0640 would be about perfect... if anyone made one. Or something in 15/32" width.

A bit of scrounging has come up with this: http://www.vbeltsupply.com/ecommerce/v- ... deere.html

Its 11.9mm wide. 0.6mm narrower than the AX24 or Truflex 2250, but 0.4mm wider than a new stock belt. At 635mm long its about 8mm longer than the standard belt, but the same length as the 2250 - remember I was able to get that belt to fit. Its an ideal raw edge cogged belt too, whereas the 2250 was not.

Might be worth a crack?

Update: I've decided it's worth a shot. Have ordered one. Stay tuned.

Sweet, if you can find one or something similar would be good to get a heads up. Not expecting my belt to arrive for a couple of weeks.

The belt shop has been really busy when ive been in latley haven't had a chance to pester them about that particular belt yet. But I did pick up the bx26 to try on the areo 80. Should be perfect. Going home in a bit after I finish my running around in the industrial park. Can't beat have a place like that local. Every thing I need for anything I do is here Princess auto, the Honda dealer bearing shop fasteners belts hydrolics commercial and industrial everything ;-)

Sweet. I have jog springs all three colours I just haven't had the time to try them. As soon as ibget my new stock cylinder sorted out and get it broken in I'll give them a go. Now that I have a 39mm socket its a breeze to dissemble a clutch :geekdance:

Yup thats what you need to pull a clutch apart. I love having the ability to pull clutches apart. I just serviced a spree clutch and pulley and installed jog springs in it :-)
