turbo anyone?

Does your Spree/Elite already run great, and you're trying to make it quicker/faster? Need a monster motor swap? Discuss your ideas here.

a fan isn't the same as a compressor, it will just push ambient air into the intake. but on an engine that small you could see some gains. But for a 50cc+ scooter a computer cooling fan wouldn't be enough to create boost imo.
yes there is a engine size differende but also differnet size fans too. not saying it would or wouldnt work on a spree but will say it worked on a goped.

Someone already makes these for RC engines of nearly 50cc. Might be adaptable.

That said, a lot of the snowmobile guys that have tried to get this setup to work haven't had good luck, or have had better results with porting and pipe changes. The supercharger would work best with stock porting and pipe, apparently.

that supercharger is way too small.

a .32 engine is only 5 CC's

find a supercharger or turbo for a 1.5 engine or larger and we're in business. I looked at how this company designs their setup and it doesn't look like it would be difficult to scale it up.

Some of those engines have pull-starts. They're showing turbos mounted up to engines up to around 35cc, which is getting closer.

Though you may see a slight increase at lower rpm's, once you get higher in the rpm's, the airflow becomes too great for a little fan or possibly even a leaf blower to keep up. You would have to see how many cfm's the spree motor draws at its peak rpm, and find something that would flow more air than it draws to become useful at all. Even on a civic, an electric blower wont work. As I already said, they may have seen gains at low rpm, but Honda car motors are high reving motors, that fan attached to it became more of a restriction and hp loss at the higher rpms.

Now comes being able to give the motor more fuel dependant on the amount of boost given into the motor. The way a turbo/supercharger work is that they force more air into the motor so that you can add more fuel to get a larger explosion. If you dont add the fuel, you will only run the motor lean. And then as I said, you need to give it fuel dependant on the amount of boost at all rpms.

Ideally, you would want to install an efi system on it to boost it properly.
Also, those RC superchargers are quite inefficient. Though you do get some gain, they eat up more gas than it is worth.

Mechanical efficiency... that's where this would fall apart.

From what I've read regarding sno-mobiles and all the issues they have, I've turned myself off to this. I'll concentrate on porting, compression, gearing, and pipes. Straightforward and cheap.

Becasue a turbo/super charger force more air/fuel in, that's alot of wasted fuel esp in a 2 stroke without a power valve, since there is no physical way of stopping the fresh charge in the combustion chamber.
Any gains would be wasted on poor fuel enconomy
