If you are having trouble with hills check your compression, you may just need to de-glaze your cylinder and clean up the ring grooves and such. Mine would climb the largest hills before I did that just a little slower than it could have, after a honing and piston cleaning and de-carbon job on the exhaust port, it climbs hills like a champ, especially when I put on the MLM pipe it will climb hills at 30mph stock every thing else but the pipe.
Edit... Duh I just realized you had already got the big bore kit. I have a big bore kit as well to try, I haven't had a chance to play with it yet its still in the box, it should really help you with the hills. You can run the kit with the stock carb and an upjet haven't tried it yet though. I have a lot of experimenting I want to try with different scenarios for carb and cylinder options, I may try my big bore kit with the stock carb for a bit after I get it on and broken in. I really feel that if you are even somewhat happy with how your spree works pre BBK, you will be happy after you get it on and broken in and dialed in especially with a pipe. A little extra displacement goes a long way sometimes.

Gree-aaaauuuGGGHHH!

Too clean! TOOOO CLEANNN!!
What compression did you get when you cinched it down?
Have you decided on a pipe?
Whazup with all the giant holes in the airbox? That looks like a stock carb, is it? If so be careful coasting downhill. There is a danger of overheating due to tiny Pilot, particularly if you've defeated the Honda-ordained negative pressue on the intake side upstream of the venturi. Brake with the throttle open to prevent cooking the top end, or just adapt an Arreche 17.5.

agree when we say holes we mean 1/4". You might as well run without the lid with those holes.

I would strongly recommend a temp gauge for that thing. It won't show the fast spikes that could seize a cylinder but you'll have a really good idea of what's happening temp wise. Heat cycle the living daylights out of that cylinder before you drive it any. The temp gauge is very useful when heat cycling because you can truly know the cylinder is cold and when its up to temp without wasting time

Also, with the taz big bore and a mlm pipe, is the bigger carb really needed?
