Good post Hammer. Let me know what results you come up with as far as performance goes. I am always trying to improve my product to get the best results for my customers. Is there any changes I could make to the 48mm kit from the maker to help it balance a little better? Any suggestion would be appretiated.

As far as performance parts I do what I can and do my best. In my experience the 48mm kit on my spree and elite e feels like it has a lot more power to give but is restricted by the small intake of the carb.

I do not believe a ported intake will make any difference or enough for you to see it without a real good GPS. Mainly because the reed cage is the restriction in the intake system. The reed cage from an SB50 has slightly bigger openings than the Spree but I know for a fact the Spree reed petals will work on the SB50 reed cage. Oh I have a couple sets of carbon fiber reeds for the Spree and I have yet to try them on either the Spree or SB50 intake systems. I've been working on my bigger cc Aeros, so maybe some time this summer I will get back to the Spree and the 1985 Aero 50.

The SB50 reed cage is the same as a 1987 spree

Actually the '85, '86 and '87 Spree all use the same reed cage as does the 1985 Aero NB50. PN# 14100-GN2-010 Which replaced the original reed assembly in all 4 engines. PN# 14100-GN2-000

The 1988 SB50 and SB50P, 1989 and '90 SB50P all use a different reed block assembly. PN# 14100-GS6-010

No, I am saying they are different. I have never had an SB50 reed in my hand, so I can not say.

The 1986-87 Sprees, all the SB50s and the 1985 Aero 50 all used the same gasket so the reed block will fit. The 1984-85 Spree shows a different gasket but I know the '86-'87 gasket fits on the '84-'85 Spree, so yeah, they should all fit.

I would have to think about the reed thing.
