ok so does that mean i it would be easier for me to just try and find and aftermarket clutch that fits with the current setup and stock pulley. One that has the springs. Correct?

So an aftermarket clutch would be made soley for the J or are the clutches interchangerable with ZX, SR and J?

the after market clutch will work with the pulley on the left which is the size of the sr clutch. It will also work with the zx clutch because although bigger in size it still uses the threaded nut to hold the clutch in.This all assuming that you have an af16 or af18 motor.

Yeah, i have an af18 i think? its an af34 dio live

So if i dont want to change the rear pulley, will a aftermarket clutch fit?

Is the fitment for all clutches the same?

So could i just got get a ZX clutch and put it on my current setup or is my system have a diff setup?

I just put a Posh CDi unit in just moments ago and eventhough ive only just briefy ridden the beast, it feels like it has a heap more torque.

you have an af34 motor not an af18 motor. but seeing that they have after market parts for the live which has the same motor as your J. you will have to see if you can use the pulley and clutch off a live ZX and change it with the one you have. that's what I did with my motor which had a different rear pulley and clutch system.

cool i will search around at the local wreckers next weekend. The new CDi feels great but the bike still cant push over 60kms with the lighter variator so i really want to do this.

Was it easy to fit the ZX gear? Any modification required?

I believe he is talking about the front pulley(variator).

yes the front pully and no it was one of the easyst mod to do, but u got to have an impact gun to take off the clutch.

Guys, if you read back through the thread u will find that i need a new clutch and rear pulley, as my current pulley and clutch are very primitive and wont allow my engine to rev high enough.

I just need to find out if i have to modify anything to my existing setup, to put a ZX rear pulley and clutch on??? Will it just screw on?
