We aquired a free 80's(we havent found out yet what year it is yet because its dark and I cant see the VIN) Honda Spree today and when I drive it, it boggs. Someone said something about it being designed for 175 lbs and under and im aroudn 300 (muscle and a little fat). Can I change the rear gear or mod it to handle me on it and enjoy it???
PS- Where's the best place on the net to buy mods, all the sites I have went to have been retarded.....

that would be pretty hard for a newb. depends on his technical experiance.atomikpunx wrote:your best bet would be a 94+ elite engine swap.
your gonna need alot of power to haul around all that power lifting muscle.
but i'll let you read around and hope for other responces.
just try some of of the powergain techniques others have talked about, such as headgasket removal, head milling, intake filling, exhaust drilling, etc.. just have to look around and its there.
projects galore
Throw a lighter rider on and see if that helps. I'm guessing that you have other issues as well, like a dirty/misadjusted carb, or bad fuel.
The Spree max weight rating is 180#. You really need a larger scoot, probably 150cc or so. If you must ride it, plan on swapping in a Aero 80 rear shock to handle the weight.

Cool...............
My technical experience is quite high seeing that I am going to Southern Illinois University for a Automotive Management degree with a minor in Marketing. I did have a Suzuki Z-400 that I did modifications to as well. We got the bike free so I will be riding on it occasionally, I put a new spark plug in it and it helped the top end tremendously even with my phat *, lmao. Looking at speeds right now aroudn 30-35 MPH on a level area. Since I am a AMSOIL dealer I am going to put some of our top notch 100:1 two-stroke oil or some intercepter oil since it is injected. Where can I find the bigger shock at?? Something about an Aero-80 shock?????
Thanks for the great responses, and hope to hear from you all more!!!

The Aero 80 reportedly fits; is the Elite 80 the same scoot?darat wrote:a honda elite 80 shock will work on the spree.
