this is the SA50 block thing. As far as i know, 93 and under SA50s were the same as the SE50s (could be wrong)

Now when you buy a gear kit you dont get everything. Just the two sprokets. So im theory, Just find one some parting out a dio motor. Snag all the inerds of the gearing. Then buy a gear kit. And it should mount in and go.
I might try this on my 92. That and port the case so it will take a 72cc bore kit.

ok, so the dio axle is the exact same as the SE50. no problems there. however, i call it the idler gear needs some machining. this gear has splines on it, and the shaft itself is a little longer. all im ganna do is shorten the shaft, and have the splines cut down just enough so i can have the gear pressed on. thats it. i will post pics once the gear is machined.

1. the before look. stock gears on the right, dio gears on the left.
2. u can c just how much longer the shaft is on the dio gear on the right.
3. in this pic, this is where i have to have the splines machined down, so i can have the gear pressed on to the shaft.
4.on the axle shaft, the stock gear has splines with 2 snap rings. the dio gear will have to be welded on. im not exactly sure if my buddy will weld it, or do something else.
5. the dio gears in the SE block.
6. once the one gear gets pressed on, i should be good to go.

you do realize something right?

YOUR CHANGING THE WAY THINGS WORK!
Your like changinging the fact that SE50s dont have gears! Why are you making the dio seem less cool?!?!?!

BTW what is the gear ratio you are using?

Hah I wouldn't go that far.. dio blocks will reign supreme in the honda realm me thinks :P

But this is a step! My friend has an 87 SE50 and would be very interested in something like this, he's trying to overhaul his elite but stay 50cc and catch up mine lol

With these gears he'll be almost there.

Once you and your buddy get everything worked out, you should mass order some gears and go in to production. I think it would be a BIG money maker just based on the amount of people that visit this site asking for gears.
