Wait! is the bottom of the manifold matched to the top of the reed cage? if its not then your going to get itake turbulance because the outer edge of the manifold bottom is wider than the inlet for the reed cage.If the reed cage inlet was wider than the bottom of the manifold, thats ok.
Nothing like getting stroked!

They are "matched" for the most part. +/- a couple of mm. This here's tinkering, not science. So far, it works well. Mayhaps I'll more carefully engineer the next one. :geekdance: That was the goal, though, to match the ports on the reedblock to the intake. I'm thinking about knife-edging the plastic reed block next, then the case...

Next time it's off I'll check it against a reed block without the reeds, see how close my guesswork really is. I was mostly focused on not grinding through the sides honestly. It's not suitable for jumping, as the intake is not as strong as it once was.

Greetings:

Dude! I've been looking all over the place for my Stick. I'll be splitting some engine cases soon, so can I have it back? :)

Your compression gauge is Way nicer than mine, though.

Thanks - tuners take note, many a fine point s are explained by bakaracer.

One thing about the Honda design - they did not match the intake to reed openings. Intake is larger than the reed inlets for both the Spree and SB50. Taking what bakaracer says to heart - starting with a Spree intake, then carving to fit may beat the SB50 intake and save $$.

On the sb50, the oil line goes into the carburator. With a spree carb on the sb intake, you must either tap a new nipple into the intake or pre-mix your oil and gas.
