where is the hole that is plugged on the sa50p airbox? i want to fully derestrict the bike and this is the only thing left

picked up a 87 se50p today, i see the restricted exhaust and can only assume it has the restricted plate granted the high 20s speed.

im pretty familiar with cvts however, does anybody recommend one variator/plate over another? Can i just take off the restricted plate ?

anybody have one they are looking to get rid of?

What will you use for a plate if you remove it? The ramp plate needs replaced not removed. Get a Keli variator and a non-restricted ramp plate.

thanks for the reply do you think i would see around 50mph with a 65mm big bore kit, new ramp, and the variator?

Yes you should see 50 mph. Forum member martynkim does it without a big bore.

That is a kit for a yamaha horizontal engine.

i already have an un-restricted muffler on my 89' sb50p. is it possible for me to get a keli variator too?

absolutely not your best bet for more speed on the sb50 is to swap in a variated engine

where can i get a variated engine?

first and best place to look is your local salvage or junkyard your best bet is an af16e "dio" motor from a 94-2001 honda elite or the variated af05 from an 87 elite se50, 88-93 Sa50 elite or Aero nb50
