Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I've come across a number of exhausts for the Dio engine that are available in Taiwan. They have a plethora of Elite stuff over there for such a small country.

Anyway, I have seen a number of exhausts that I don't recognize. Can anyone comment on these if you have heard of/had experience with with any of them?

Number 8 is a Sam Yang which is the company that makes the Sym, so maybe its a DD50 muffler.

all those pipes are copiesof the yms and pg pipes.the sectional j pipes are the same as the pg typhoon. the smooth j pipes are like the one jiangwayne sells thats the v8 pipes and the one that looks like a pg long,there are several copies of that pipe.if you find MSP pipes,those are good pipes. if you want a good pipe,try a scorpion pipe from hawaii or a jad pipe.

here scorpion. havent used it yet but heard many good things from D and other people. i work at a shop on maui and we sell PG longs. they break easy. they crack and rattle. scorpion's quality is way better. call scoter alley and ask for albert he is very cool. sometimes they dont have the pipe in stock so may have to wait.

d*** that thing is ugly. It looks like it was used in WW2. hehe just kidding. I have the same experience with long pipes myself. they rattle and break easy.

The 5th one looks like the one Taz sold me. The brand name appears to be "Hot Surface, Do Not Touch". Bolted to Flash III - 78cc Nicasil and OKO 30mm carb for now - it oozes with low-end torque. Installed a bone-stock Kymco clutch, complete with stock springs so it engages just off idle. Danged if this thing doesn't just Motor away as low as 2500 RPM, something the PG Long would absolutely refuse to do.

I need to swap to lighter rollers to see for sure, but I have a feeling the pipe closes down the party at about 8K RPM.
Up to that engine speed, power's great!

if you want a cheap powerful pipe go PG long its about $160 locally. most people in hawaii use them. but, if you want something quite go v8(sectional J) like number 2. btw what size motor you running?

Clive, the Hot Surface pipe is truly spectacular on the low-end. The grunt right off idle reminded me of my old Kawasaki 90 dirtbike. I'll swap down a few grams in the Vario - using Brand X 97mm job on Flash III for now... - to see if it handles higher RPM. Something tells me it's not a PG Long, but for 'round town maybe that's a good thing. It ran almost 55 this morning on the way to work - at 7500 RPM!

Not so much for personal use, though I'm looking for ones to suit BBKs rather than stroker size. I was toying with the idea of bringing in a couple to check the quality with a view to importing more.

I didn't measure the Hot Surfaces header pipe, sorry. If I were to guess, from dim Wheel-memory it's closer to 28 or 30mm.

The SYM Sanyang pipe looks pretty sweet! I have had GREAT luck with ALL SYM parts, top quality stuff from Taiwan.

The pipe that kinda looks like a PG Long looks more to me like a SEF Majik copy with the rounded end cap.

1to2mm is a big difference in diameter for 2 stroke exhaust pipes.you should measure that inlet on that exhaust you got from taz that way you know what you have and why that pipe works better for certain setups.remember how sanjuro had better results with his malossi kit when he switched to the burial pipe that had a smaller header inlet than the pg typhoon?

hi guys, new guy here. i'm doing a custom build with a factory stock 90cc 2 stroke minarelli clone and having a rough time finding pipes for it.

i've found reference on another forum of the PG long (power pipe) being used on that motor, and the same mentioned here.

i'm more interested in the scorpion though and wonder if you think it will work for 90cc ?

anyone know if the scorpion is still available ?

yes they are still made and get better and better.pm me for the shops number to you if you want. they make the pipe for 72-90ish small strokers 100-109ish and big strokers. BTW ITS HELLA LOUD
