Bore kit suggestions..

Post by scottinscotty »

i have a 2001 honda elite 50-sr i've put a variator on it, upjetted, moded the exhaust slighty, and moded the intake, it runs about 45 mph... now i'm ready for a bore kit... i drive it every day 2 and from work so i'm looking for performance but realiability, i realize reeds and a gear are to follow, but what type of bore kit would be best? any suggestions?

If you want a good street bore kit Polini contesta and bolt on. If the corsa bore cost too much.

78cc need some boost port on the block crank case..

Polini contesta , 1,000 center spring only, 8.4 gear kit. Just leave stock rear driven only.

you mean for the boost port correct? do you need to mod. the case? or can you run without it? and also what gear ratio would be good all around?

Yes, 78cc need to mod the case. Not mod the case , piston will seize , lack of air/fuel flow in cylinder 78cc jug. if you got a 24mm oko pwk carb? 8:1 to 8.4 gear.

it is bolt on , just slide on and torque head bolt..

Add some fresh oil into crank case til oil touch a crankshaft and add little more... Lube oil cylinder jug, piston rings, pin, bearing.

Before you put it in need to wash water off cylinder jug, inside only.. to take out metal finish off and stuffing foams.

The new bore kit need to break-in at least 400 miles only.

first few miles run 25mph. just take your time to throttle gas no more than half throttle.. Once you feel the scooter about to kick in find speed 25mph then back off gas and hold vary speed on and off.

Just run synthetic oil only and auto lube.. :D

ngk b8hs. good for 24-28mm carb.

Just go B10hs is cold plug..

if you use stock honda plug is hot # 6 will make a hole of new piston..

when you get the polini bore kit.

take the polini head with you and bring stock plug.

stock plug has a long tip on the end.

B8hs is a short tip on the end.

The spark plug can be bought at any scooter shop locally..

if you going change clutch spring add more rev to motor same as tranny set up..

center spring only...

It will last long time than 1k shoes springs. shoe pad last long time also n clutch bell..

I got taiwan 1k center spring only $12.00 shipped.

The more you change new parts, more times need to tunes the motor, carb and trannys
