Re: Keli Racing Variators are worthless

CAPT wrote:In case anyone tries to suggest you buy a Keli variator, save your money. They are no different than a stock one, and the only benefit over a stock variator is that they are not worn out when bought new. Go with a stock Ruckus or polini variator. If you are really lucky, find a RUIMA variator which is the best one for the money, but I dont think they can be had anymore...

I have tried two of these Keli variators, and have no idea who really thinks they are any good when compared to a real aftermarket variator. :) If you are running a Keli variator, try something else and you wont regret it.
By ruima, do you mean the new Prodigy model?

Personally, I use a Malossi variator for my Dio, but the Polini variators in my experience are awesome (used with my Ruckus when I still owned one).

I've got a oko vari and it made a difference. I can't see how the keli variator would be the same as stock. I've ran a keli before and it does make a difference. You seem to have had a bad experience with them. I saw someone selling a keli on here and this thread probably won't help sell it

I have a keli and it seems to run just fine. If stock, and if that's your only modification, I gained 5+ mph.

Yeah but that's if you have done significant work to your bike. Some people just buy them because their not too hard to get and its a cheap mod for a stock bike. But your saying the stock vari and keli are the same which is false just ask toboggan. If your bike is banging 70 plus then its a different story.

In stock form, I agree that the Keli is well worth the money. As for the one for sale, that is a steal and the seller is top notch to boot. As to the modded engines, I've never run a Keli on a BBK so I don't know. My questions remains though: What model of Ruima variator is better?

I would say the keli is worth it if you can track down an sef ramp to go with it.

This is the keli variator.

The ramps are very smooth in their transition from top to bottom.

If you look at the stock variator, it is very different.

The keli makes the your scooter shift smoother and have better mid range power.

It is not worthless

I do agree that the stock ruckus vari and polini for ruckus vari are much better bang for your buck, if you scooter is 72+CC.

Here's why I would recommend them capt. They are a cheap, easy mod to do on a stock bike and are fairly easy to get. They are better over stock variators on both the stock level and beast level build. Your thread title has been proved inccorect and false. You should just delete this thread. Also your saying that the ruima vari is the cream of the crop when it comes to variators which may be true. However you have reminded us over and over again of how hard they are to find. You my friend are not very smart

Keli's face is nowhere near as smooth as the other variators on the market.
