larger tires=slower?

Post by scottorious »

I just put 90/90 10 michelin s1 tires on my 50cc aero plus tuned it up and put a new variator. would anyone have any suggestions as to a top speed? I think it could use a little more tuning up. I was getting decent acceleration it seemed like but maybe my variator weights are too heavy? My engine seemed like it maxed out rpm pretty early so i think that means weights are a bit heavy right? I also think that the much larger tires that weigh considerably more are slowing it down, however I like the tires so they are staying.

sounds like your wieghts are too light, lighter weights give better acceleration and lower top speed and heavier weights equal the opposite
