So has anyone done or added reed spacers to the Spree ?

if so how thick ?

notice any difference ?

before ( more low end ) or after ( more top end ) the cage ?

A reed spacer under the reeds (between the reeds and the block), you increase the case volume there by LOWERING the crankcase pressure, hence the combustion chamber pressure, making LESS horsepower.

Putting a spacer above the reeds (between the reeds and the intake manifold) will lengthen the intake runner, moving the peak horsepower and torque RPM downward.

Ok Dokie so has anyone put spacer on the spree ?

Yeah to adapt a CT intake to the Spree but then the stock Spree reeds are left out. Besides if you want a longer intake tract just get a 1985 Aero 50 intake and use it, as it is 13.26 mm longer than the Spree intake. But of course this will require you to NOT use the stock air box but then so will a spacer and the rejet required for that maybe make or break this change. In either case the performance increase if any will be next to nothing.

Ok so not worth it on the Spree

They make a huge difference on the RD moves the band where you want it

None of the early scooters had a restricted CDI. That came later with the DIO

i made a space for my spree ..havent out it on yet but i made one

When you get it on the scoot let me know how it is

how wide 8mm ?

it will only be about 5mm thick with a gasket above and below it because i made it from a old reed cage

if your looking for more torque and power, mill the head to increase the compression. the stock compression ratio is very low around 7to1. if you mill the head about .030 that will bring the compression ratio to about 9to1. just have to run premium gas after doing that and your good to go.

I'm up for milling eventually

But with the spacer i have some aluminum here I can just cut and fit

I can see 5mm would be better , we used 8 mm on the RD's
