Oh. Do you know the tooth count of your current gears? I don't really don't have enough dd50 experience to say. They will bring a dio from 12.12:1 down to 9.19:1. That is a solid 10mph gain in top speed.

no i dont know sorry. Is DD gearing very similar to that of a dio and it should definitely increase my top speed though shouldnt it? also if i bought other performance parts e.g. intake manifold, carb and air filter, would they make it go faster or would it just be restricted by the gearing, i mean the gearing that ive ordered, not my current one?
thanks
thanks

i dont know sorry but say if the gear-up kit made me go 50mph ( i go 45mph at the moment) and then i purchased a bigger intake manifold, carb and air filter would i go even faster or would it be restricted by the gearing?
thanks
thanks

Sym stock primaries: 34x12
Sym stock secondaries:47x12
Stock sym gear ratio is 11:1, if you buy that gear kit (42x16) you will end up at 7.4:1. Tall, but doable if you are a lightweight rider or live in a flat area with not many hills. That being said, I weigh ~200lbs. and run 6.9:1 gears, so it's all how you like things to feel.
As far as the carb, it probably won't get you any more speed (if any). It will add a lot of reliability, and probably some throttle response. A different muffler would definitely net FAR more gains as far as speed, but you should get the carb first before a high flow muffler.

Ok thanks a lot would a keli variator make me go any faster? And do you think you could explain the whole gear ratio thing, I don't understand it at all.
Thankyou

The Keli will give it a couple more MPH on the top end, it is a better midrange choice though. The Ruckus vari is a good dio mod. I have not heard of anyone using it on the DD50 though. I know the dd50 block weighs more than the dio block, there might not be room.jacob789 wrote:i looked at it but i would preferr it if someone just summarised it more simply. also would a keli variator make my ped faster?

Are you a motorcycle guy?

If you don't have a variator yet, then yes the Keli will make your bike faster.
Gear ratios are pretty simple, higher number = lower speed. 12:1 = stock and slow (well 11:1 is stock for you), 6.5:1 = high speed. Lots of ratios in the middle there, your choice on which one.

Also, it is a trade off, the higher the number has the quickest acceleration but the lower tops speed. The lower the number, the slower the acceleration but the higher the potential top speed.
