I am not for sure but I have been thinking of ordering one myself. they have a higher tension than the stock ones and produce a stronger spark for better fuel combustion so you really dont need one unless your compression is high like race bikes

On average aftermarket variators give you a 5+ mph increase. Uping the carb size can net you a higher top speed but it will not be as big a gain as swapping the variator.

definately work on the variator, if nothing but getting a SEF ramp and some different roller weights. but if you are going to do it might as well get the whole thing and do it right, you can get a variator with ramp and weights from autotech335 on ebay for around 30 and they sell the 21mm carb kit and just about all the stuff you need like taller gears and bore kits but the shipping is at least 25 from taiwan, or scooter assassins sales a vari with ramp and a 24mm carb kit with free shipping from taiwan. cheaper than the high end stuff like polini and mallossi but if done right and hte proper care taken then the parts perform just as good. ALL my performance parts i got from taiwan except the zx exhaust...don't know if it has any better output but I know its not restricted

ok thankyou. i already have new rollers that came with the technigas exhaust. whats an SEF ramp?

it is an aftermarket ramp plate that has better angles than the stock ramp allowing hte rollers to move farther back so your belt can ride farther up on the drive face. look on Trafficjamz for sale thread he has one for sale for 10 or 15 dollars

The SEF ramp plate is one of the easiest performance mods you can do.

Or if you want to you can swap out the entire variator. You already have a big bore on it and i'm assuming you did that install yourself.
Installing a new variator is a heck of a lot eaiser and will increase your performance throughout the throttle range, normally tacking another another 5mph or better to your top speed.

I just dont want you to shy away from it because it sounds like the tough mod to do

i didnt do any of it myself lol, i take it to a garage. to tell u the truth i dont really have a clue how to fit most parts and yh ill probly get the keli variator.
what would u rate the sym dd out of 10?

ok so i got the gear-up kit fitted now and i think it goes about 60mph, im not sure yet so ill have to clarify that. so im happy with it now and am gonna leave it how it is apart from getting new tyres.

and i dont know what the gear ratio is, how do you work it out? all i n know is the teeth are 16x42
