you need bigger displacement and a counter weight crank to match a top end pipe rpm> heavier weights and 7-1 or lower gears

what rpm are you hitting now?

What belt are you using?

Maybe a polini for ruckus variator would get you a few more mph.

Can we see pics of your current setup?

6.7:1 is lower than 7:1 gears...the sef mini is a full counterweight crank...Bear help me out..I have money..I want to build my contezza...

Numerically lower but gear ratios work backwards and a smaller number is a higher ratio.

Have you switched the primary gears yet? if not 6.9 to 1 should gain you at least 10mph

This chart assumes you have a .85:1 ratio at the variator and a 90/90 tire.

With 7.5 gears 80mph would need rpms above 11k

6.3 gears would only require 9k or so, but your 72cc bore might not make enuff power too push it there.

using that chart..i thought of this set up

1500 center spring
4000 clutch springs
with 42gram weights

this will give me about 9500 rpm
pushing my gears to about 75mph..

but i still need more power to get me to 80mph
iv seen it done here in hawaii with a 72..i just need more power

any advice on building power for my 72
im thinking putting a rotor kit to give me more rpm, but
i know for a fact that im going to have to change my springs
and weights to be in balance with the high rpm of the rotor kit.

any advice..??
mahalo..

mahalo means thank you in hawaiian

Only if he has enough horsepower, which is unlikely.

Well I've definitely never hit 80, but 1st thing I'd change is that 2k center spring. 1500 like you were thinking is good, I'd even try a 1k center spring. No need for 2k spring if you weigh 150lbs.

I would find a set of speed rated tires before you kill yourself! I've only found 62mph tires out there....just sayin!
