I dont get it

I suck at tuning hahahha setup polini contesta 21mm oko 45/100 stock pipe ruima vari with 9g 1.5k contra 1.5k grabbers with 9.1 gears 32:1 premix bp8hs plug 45 mph what am I doing wrong? heck my 43mm bore did 43mph

mark the variator face with a sharpie and see how high the belt rides. what color is the plug? you using a cylinder head temp gauge?

I havent really run it enough for a proper plug chop but so far it is a reddish brown on the end and black at the ring BUT its a used plug too so I will need to get a new one to really check it and no I dont have a cylinder head temp gauge I have a digital probe thermometer I stick on the side of the cylinder and on the head to get an estimate of the temps. measured around 290 after a short WOT run
switched to my prodigy with 9g and stock trans to eliminate that variable till I get the carb tuned, will mark the vari with a sharpie and drop to a 95 tomorrow and see where that puts me

havent checked that yet
it starts easy and has plenty of power on the bottom so I dont think that is my problem. Will check that tomorrow as well

I am pretty sure the belt is riding almost all the way out on the vari but will make sure tomorrow.

Put a better pipe on and those 9:1 gears top out quick

To small da carb and pipe go with a 24 or 26mm carb and get a better breathing pipe. You should think about getting 8.44:1 gears. Those jets are too small for 32:1 premix.

Definately need a better pipe
Just did a compression test 150psi cold. I did notice if i turned the a/f screw in all the way it ran better than at 1 1/2 out but I think the 45 pilot is too big. Think I may take the mani off and make sure my gaskets are good and seal the vacuum nipple screw

What about the metal tabs on the reeds between the reed and the stop? would the fuel flow better with or without them?

Without but the difference will only be a couple hundred RPM.
