Stock bore with no hg?

I was reading a post someone did with a bbk kit and no hg. But is it too much to run a nq50 86 with no hg. Also planning on porting exhaust as well as intake. Hoping for higher compression to even out the pully mod. Is it too much compression?

What the * is hg? Oh and porting will not increase compression.

Oh really porting it won't increase compression? Well No s*** hick. Ok so have a grove machined for an oring. I just thought I had heard people running without a hg is why I asked. Any feedback on trying this?

O-ringing heads has been done for years with great success.

But cutting the o-ring groove can be expensive compared to cutting .020 to .030" off the head. And you accomplish the same thing.

if an o-ring would hold what about rtv with no hg? i guess basically my question is the width of the hg larger than the allowance of shaving the head?

If that would work, don't you think the auto manufacturers would be doing it?

Ive been running without a headgasket for ova 1500miles on my spree.I just cleaned both surfaces put a small amount of high temp RTV around the jug then torqued the head down.It was only gonna be temporary but 1500miles later and its holding up fine

Cost, gaskets are cheap compared to machine work.
