intake port

Post by FullRace808 »

as i was building my 120 stroker. i was porting my intake and i thaught to my self, will it be better if i cut out the line in between the intake and make it bigger.
so instead of having 2 squares in the intake. will it be better to cut the thing in the middle of the intake so it makes the intake bigger? will it be better?

You don't want to cut that brace out. It holds the top section from flexing when it gets hot. Plus its only about 1mmto1.3mm thick anyways. Why risk it leaking on top for that extra 1to1.3mm. Not worth it.

Greetings;

Someone else here ax-ted that question about 2-3 years ago. A Respected Forumista replied:

Evidently someone (or several) thought the same and lived to regret cutting out that little brace. It is a pretty long floor right where the hot part of the case meets the cold. Don't do it.

here is an example of a dio smoking and spanking a animo jog style motor. in fact this is a piaggio watercooled 15k rpm 19hp+ motor getting spanked by yours truely on a dio powered 87 elite
