2000 eliteS.. Bore kit

Post by doughrek »

I want more power from my 00 elite. How does this setup sound, and how reliable will it be? Any other suggestions? Different bore kits? Let me know what you think..
1. 85cc FM Big bore kit, complete (comes w/ head)
1. OKO 28mm (better for 85cc) comb kit. 28mm carb / big valve intake / adjst. throttle cable / full flow air filter.
1. R1 Big bore exhaust, performance muffler
1. Hi-Speed Pulley Kit, complete with ramp plate and guides
1. Race gear set for final drive
1. 1000 rpm and 1. 1500 rpm West German Compression spring (2 in total)
1. set clutch shoe springs

Also about how much do you think that setup will cost? Any cheaper solutions. I want about 55-60mph top speed.. Or more.

save your money on the fm bore kit and get a 72cc polini corsa bore kit. also look for a kelli pulley kit, and possibly a sef or daytona #2 ramp plate.

where were you planning on getting this stuff from? sounds like a vt cycles list to me.

I would go with the corsa also, swap the r1 pipe for a pg short or pg long, I doubt you will use a 1500 center spring,

How much is that and where should I order all the stuff from? Which setup is more reliable?

72 corsa by far,I mean the fm is good but may need to be clearenced checked
Go with kelli pulley, and kelli ramp-it comes in the kit, they work well for each other, the daytona #2 or sef requires you to build alot more rev -lighter weights which is not always a good thing

I seen some polini kits on ebay.. Heres a ad """Polini Corsa race kit also available for $225 (free shipping included). Corsa kit offers a 9mph faster top speed than the standard Polini contesta kit. It is factory hand ported and has much higher rev potential (this accounts for the higher top speed).""

Is that a good price for the kit? What would be the next thing you would buy after that?

they go for 225 down here, but if you know people I know you can get them for 2 bills flat, after the corsa would be a malossi then the contessa.
The malossi are good, but I think are a lot more fineky then the corsa which are pretty for giving, I never tried the contessa but have tried the malossi and the corsa,I perfer the corsa even though it's cast iron it kicks *

The contessa has longer piston skirts, cut them to a corsa and you are good to go, for a mini stroker cut the corsa skirts about 1/8 in and you are god to go.
